The regular meetings of the Planning Commission and Board of Building and Zoning Appeals will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, beginning at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The meetings will be held at City Hall, 1st floor Council Chambers, 538 North Market Street, Wooster, Ohio.
The Planning Commission will hold public hearings for the following application at their meeting, which will begin at 6:30 pm: PC-25-29 Judy Talcott, requesting approval for a Conditional Use permit for a Place of Worship at 2020 Noble Drive with permanent parcel number 67-02982.004 in a C-1 (Office/Institutional) zoning district. PC-25-30 Curtis Swan requesting an approval recommendation from the Planning Commission to City Council for a Zoning Map Amendment to change the zoning of parcels 67-02852.005 (1280 E Milltown), 67-02852.008 (1282 E Milltown), and 67-02852.009 (1350 E Milltown) with approximately 10.2 acres on the north side of East Milltown Road from R-1 (Suburban Single-Family Residential) to CF, (Community Facilities) zoning district.
The Board of Building and Zoning Appeals will hold public hearings for the following applications at their meeting, which will begin at 7:30 pm: BZA-25-25 J. Douglas Drushal requesting a Use Variance from Planning and Zoning Code Section 1109.02(d) to allow a multi-family dwelling in an R-T (Traditional Residential) zoning district at 817 East Bowman Street with parcel number 65-00432.000. BZA-25-26 Andrew Miller, requesting clarification and relief from sections 1135 (definitions), 1121 Open Space Standards, 1117 (General Development Standards), 1129 (Subdivision Design), 1107 (Zoning Districts), zoning map and area variances from Planning and Zoning Code Sections 1109.03(c)(1)(E), to exceed the maximum approved density and 1109.03(c(1)(F) and 1121.03(a) to eliminate open space requirements from a previously approved subdivision with the open space/common area in a R-1 (Single-Family Residential) zoning district with parcel number 67-01504.010 within the Royal Wood Glenn/Peach Royal Subdivision.
All interested parties are welcome to attend and will have the opportunity to address the Commission and Board during the public hearing portion of the meetings, as well as submit evidence and written comments regarding the applications. Special auxiliary aids for individuals with disabilities are available upon request, provided at least five days' notice is given prior to the meeting.
