The regular meetings of the Planning Commission and the Board of Building and Zoning Appeals will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, beginning at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The meetings will be held at City Hall, 1st floor Council Chambers, 538 North Market Street, Wooster, Ohio.
The Planning Commission will review the following application at the meeting, which will begin at 6:30 pm: PC-26-9 Graham Ewing requesting a lot split, resulting in a lot without frontage on parcel number 53-00234.000 located at 2140/2128 Mechanicsburg Rd within the City of Wooster's three-mile review area (Wooster Township).
The Board of Building and Zoning Appeals will hold public hearings for the following applications at their meeting, which will begin at 7:30 pm: BZA-26-10 Marquise Merriweather, on behalf of the property owner, requesting a Use Variance from Planning and Zoning Code Section 1109.02(d) to allow a Personal Service Establishment in an R-T (Traditional Residential) zoning district at 424 Nold Avenue (rear accessory structure) with parcel number 64-00485.000. BZA-26-11 J. Douglas Drushal is requesting area variances from Planning and Zoning Code Sections 1119.03, Design Criteria for Residential Dwellings in the R-T District (g) two-story, and (i) front porch depth at 354 Lucca Street with parcel number 65-01083.000. BZA-26-12 Ben Harbaugh is requesting an area variance from Planning and Zoning Code Section 1127.10(d)(2) and (3) to allow a freestanding sign that exceeds the overall permitted height and permitted area for an electronic message center at 199 Vanover Street (Parcel Number 64-02743.000) in a CF (Community Facilities) zoning district.
All interested parties are welcome to attend and will have the opportunity to address the Commission and Board during the public hearing portion of the meetings, as well as submit evidence and written comments regarding the applications. Special auxiliary aids for individuals with disabilities are available upon request, provided at least five days' notice is given prior to the meeting.
