THIS MATTER having been opened to the Court before the Honorable Marc R. Brown, P.J.F.P., on August 29, 2025, upon the Notice of Motion of Edward S Cooper, Esq., attorney for plaintiff, Richard Aviles (Edward S Cooper, Esq., on the papers), seeking an Order permitting plaintiff to serve defendant, Zobeida Gonzalez, with plaintiff's divorce complaint and other related documents by publication in a newspaper circulated in Union County New Jersey, and, thereafter to provide proof of such publication with the Court, and the Court having reviewed the moving papers and for the reasons set forth in the attached statement of reasons, and good cause appearing to the form and entry of the within Order;
IT IS ON THIS 29 DAY OF AUGUST, 2025;
ORDERED that:
1. Plaintiff's request to serve defendant with the summons and complaint for divorce by substituted service pursuant to New Jersey Court Rule 4:4-4(b) is granted pursuant to New Jersey Court Rules 4:4-5 and 5:4-4 (c)(2)
2. Plaintiff shall publish notice in The Record within thirty (30) days of the date of this Order and shall file proof of same with the Court within fourteen (14) days of publication. Instructions for the form of publication are attached hereto.

The Defendant shall serve upon the Plaintiff, whose name and address appear above, either (a) a written appearance in accordance with R. 5:4-3(1), or (b) an answer to the complaint, within thirty-five (35) days of the date of the publication of this order; and if the Defendant fails to answer or file a written appearance in accordance with R. 5:4-3(a), judgment by default may be rendered against the Defendant for the relief demanded in the complaint; and further, if the Defendant is unable to obtain an attorney, the Defendant may communicate with the New Jersey Bar Association by calling (908) 249-5000; and further that the Defendant shall promptly file the answer or written appearance and proof of service thereof with the Clerk of the Superior court – Matrimonial, Union County Courthouse, 2 Cherry Street 3rd Floor, Elizabeth, New Jersey 07207, in accordance with the rules of practice and procedure.
