Louis Cheramie -Public Notice
Notice is hereby given that Louis Cheramie has applied for a 401 Water Quality Certification for the proposed Cell #2 Marsh Restoration Project to construct Proposed Cell #2 for the disposal of clean, unused oil production barite and cement )approximately 201,456 cubic yards) in an existing abandoned sand mining pit. Hauled in dirt fill (approximately 35,582 cubic yards) will be placed on top of the unused oil production barite and cement to reestablish marsh. The project as proposed is located off Highway 1 near Golder Meadow, Lafourche Parish. Louis Cheramie is applying to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Office of Environmental Services for a Water Quality Certification in accordance with the statutory authority contained in the LAC 33:IX.1507.A-E and provisions of Section 401 of the Clean Water Act.
