Meeting Notice The Fire Board of the Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District will hold its regular general business meetings on the following dates at Fire Station #1, 5700 Pine Island Road, Bokeelia, FL. All meetings listed below will begin at 5pm. October 22, 2025, November 19, 2025, December 17, 2025, January 28, 2026, February 25, 2026, March 25, 2026, April 22, 2026, May 27, 2026, June 24, 2026, July 22, 2026, August 26, 2026, and September 23, 2026. Note that in July the District will adopt its proposed millage rate and in September the District is required to hold two public hearings after 5:00pm. In the case that one of the public hearings occurs on the same date as a regular general business meeting, the regular meeting will follow immediately after the public hearing. The purpose of the regular general business meetings is for the Board to certify all bills to be paid and take care of any other business that may come before it. The Fire Board of the Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District will hold workshop meetings on the following dates at Fire Station #1, 5700 Pine Island Road, Bokeelia, FL. All meetings listed below will begin at 5pm. June 22, 2026, July 20, 2026, August 24, 2026, and September 21, 2026. No official business will be conducted at workshop meetings. The public is invited and urged to attend all meetings. Any physically-challenged person requiring auxiliary aids and services for the meeting is requested to contact the office of the Fire Chief at (239)283-0030 with the request at least 2 days prior to the meeting date. If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the board, agency, or commissioner with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
