Merton Community School District Board of Education Special Meeting MERTON COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT Board of Education Special Meeting Monday, August, 2025 5:15 p.m. Merton Intermediate School Little Theater President Imes called the meeting to order at 5:15 p.m. Imes announced the meeting was properly posted. Board members in attendance were Imes, Cotton, Griffin, and Dobbertin. District Administrator Russ was in attendance. There were no reporters and approximately 3 citizens in attendance. Approval of Agenda Motion by Cotton, second by Griffin to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 4-0. School Board Vacancy Interviews The Board gave each candidate three minutes to introduce themselves and then asked each candidate the questions, in an interview style. 1. Erin Fay (5:23 pm) 2. John LaFleur (5:40 pm) Upon completion of the interviews, the Board took action by completing individual written ballots. President Imes read the ballots declaring John LaFleur as the new Board member filling the vacant Board seat previously held by Philip Spindler. The vote was 4-0 in favor of John Lafleur.
