Minutes for May 4, 2026

Minutes for May 4, 2026 Mayor Don Parker and Council Members met in regular session on May 4, 2026. Present were Clerk Mechele Jones, Danita Davis, Kim Cloessner and Lee Book. The meeting came to order by Water Operator Malcolm English. Minutes of the regular session from April 8, 2026 were read. Danita Davis made a motion to accept the minutes as read, seconded by Kim Cloessner. The Financial Reports were read for each of the departments. Lee Book made a motion to accept the reports and pay the bills; seconded by Kim Cloessner. Mayor Parker discussed with the Council that Phase 2 of the extension of East River Road will be starting soon. Mayor will be meeting with the owners of Dalton's Grocery and Joey Rogers in a few weeks about the progress that is being done. Mayor checked with council on interest in leasing the land behind the town hall. Danita Davis made a motion to consider leasing a one acre property behind the Town Hall and will be getting an appraisal. Water Operator Malcolm English attended the meeting discussing the Backflow Prevention and getting a quote for the tank inspection. Mayor Parker presented the Amended Budget for 2026 to the council. Lee Book made a motion to accept the amended budget; seconded by Kim Cloessner. Mayor Parker presented the Budget for 2027 to the council. Lee Book made a motion to accept the 2027 Budget; seconded by Kim Cloessner. Motion to adjourn was made by Danita Davis; seconded by Lee Book. Publication Dates LLOU0530339
