Minutes of a Special Board Meeting and Public Hearing of The Board of Directors of the United Community School District February 5, 2026 CALL TO ORDER The United Board of Education held a special board meeting and public hearing on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in the United library. The meeting was called to order by President Jon Davis at 5:04 p.m. Members present included Rachael Gross, Ben Hershey and Kathy Toms. Lori Weyhrich was absent. Others present were Superintendent Heather Holm, Principal Elyse Brimeyer, Board Secretary Jenn Meinecke, and guests. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Hershey moved to approve the agenda as presented. Toms seconded. Motion carried 4-0. PUBLIC HEARING – MSA REQUEST AUTHORIZED BY SF659 President Davis, along with Superintendent Holm, shared that districts may request a new modified supplemental amount (MSA) (i.e. spending authority) per Senate File 659. Districts qualify if 45% or more of their total enrollment is due to open enrollment. United is eligible to request $9,448.53 in MSA. There were no public comments. ACTION ITEMS Board Resolution: SBRC Request for Modified Supplemental Amount (MSA). Gross motioned to approve the MSA request for $9,488.53 as authorized by Senate File 659. Hershey seconded. Motion carried 4-0. School Improvement Advisory Committee Members Gross motioned to approved the proposed School Improvement Advisory Committee (SIAC) membership as presented. Hershey seconded. Motion carried 4-0. ADJOURN There was no further business for consideration. Toms motioned to adjourn the meeting. Gross seconded.
