Minutes of an Annual Meeting of The Board of Directors of the United Community School District September 15, 2025 CALL TO ORDER The United Community School District Board of Education held an Annual board meeting on September 15, 2025, in the United Community Library. Members present included President Brenda Stanley, Vice President Lori Weyhrich, Jon Davis, and Kathy Toms. Mike Lynch was absent. The meeting was called to order by President Stanley at 6:00 pm. Others present were Superintendent Heather Holm, Board Secretary Jenn Meinecke, Principal Elyse Brimeyer, and five guests. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Davis motioned to approve the agenda as presented. Toms seconded. Motion carried 4-0. ACTION ITEMS Set Meeting Date, Time, and Location: Approved the continuation of regular board meetings at 6:00pm on the third Monday of every month in the Library as the official meeting date, time and location for the 2025-2026 school year. Weyhrich motioned to approve as presented. Davis seconded. Motion carried 4-0. Designate Depositories: Approved to designate Vision Bank and ISJIT as depositories with the maximum of #11,000,000 on deposit at each institution. Weyhrich motioned to approve as presented. Davis seconded. Motion carried 4-0. Designate Legal Counsel: Approved to designate, Ahlers and Cooney P.C. Law Firm in Des Moines, IA as the legal counsel for all school matters. Weyhrich motioned to approve as presented. Davis seconded. Motion carried 4-0. Designate Official Newspaper: Approved to designate the Boone News Republican as the official newspaper for legal publications. Davis motioned to approve as presented. Weyhrich seconded. Motion carried 4-0. Annual Policy Review: Approved the first reading of board policy 103 and regulation 103.R1. Weyhrich motioned to approve as presented. Toms seconded. Motion carried 4-0. ADJOURN: There was no further business for consideration. Toms motioned to adjourn the meeting. Davis seconded.
