NOTICE OF ADOPTION STATE OF INDIANA, COUNTY OF ORANGE IN ORANGE CIRCUIT COURT, CAUSE NO. 59C01-2508-AD-000040 IN RE THE ADOPTION OF TYLER REIGN WILLARD, THOMAS E. RONEY Jr. and TARA HOPE RONEY, Petitioners. SHEYENNE NICOLE BUCEY and JOSEPH TYLER WILLARD are notified that a petition for adoption of a child, named TYLER REIGN WILLARD, born to SHEYENNE NICOLE BUCEY and JOSEPH TYLER WILLARD on April 27, 2020, was filed in the office of the clerk of court of Orange County, 1 East Court Street, Paoli, Indiana 47454. The petition for adoption alleges that the consent to adoption of SHEYENNE NICOLE BUCEY and JOSEPH TYLER WILLARD is not required because under I.C. 31-19-9-8(a)(2)(A), consent to adoption is not required from a "parent of a child in the custody of another person" who fails "without justifiable cause to communicate significantly with the child when able to do so" for "a period of at least one (1) year, and SHEYENNE NICOLE BUCEY and JOSEPH TYLER WILLARD have in fact failed to communicate significantly with TYLER REIGN WILLARD, without justifiable cause, for a period of at least one year. If SHEYENNE NICOLE BUCEY and JOSEPH TYLER WILLARD seek to contest the adoption of the child, SHEYENNE NICOLE BUCEY and JOSEPH TYLER WILLARD must file a motion to contest the adoption in accordance with IC 31-19-10-1 in the above named court not later than fifteen (15) days after the date of service of this notice. If SHEYENNE NICOLE BUCEY or JOSEPH TYLER WILLARD do not file a motion to contest the adoption within fifteen (15) days after service of this notice the above named court will hear and determine the petition for adoption. If they do not file a motion to contest, the consent to adoption of SHEYENNE NICOLE BUCEY and JOSEPH TYLER WILLARD will be irrevocably implied and SHEYENNE NICOLE BUCEY and JOSEPH TYLER WILLARD will lose the right to contest either the adoption or the validity of SHEYENNE NICOLE BUCEY's and and JOSEPH TYLER WILLARD's implied consent to the adoption. No statement made to TYLER REIGN WILLARD, THOMAS E. RONEY, JR. or TARA HOPE RONEY relieves SHEYENNE NICOLE BUCEY and JOSEPH TYLER WILLARD of SHEYENNE NICOLE BUCEY's and JOSEPH TYLER WILLARD's obligations under this notice. This notice complies with IC 31-19-4.5-3 but does not exhaustively set forth a person's legal obligations under the Indiana adoption statutes.
