NOTICE OF ANNUAL ELECTION
HARTSDALE FIRE DISTRICT
TOWN OF GREENBURGH, WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NEW YORK
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 175 of the Town Law of the State of New York, that the Annual Election of the qualified voters of the Hartsdale Fire District in the Town of Greenburgh, Westchester County, New York, will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, between the hours of 3:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. at Hartsdale Fire Station No. 1, located at 25 South Central Park Avenue, Hartsdale, New York, for the following purpose:
• To elect one (1) Fire Commissioner for a term of five (5) years
• To elect one (1) Fire Commissioner for a term of one (1) year
To be qualified to vote in the Hartsdale Fire District election, a voter must be:
1. A citizen of the United States
2. A resident of the Hartsdale Fire District for a period of thirty (30) days immediately preceding the election
3. Registered with the Westchester County Board of Elections under permanent personal registration no later than November 17, 2025
Only those meeting all three criteria will be permitted to vote.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that every Fire Commissioner must be at least 18 years of age, must not have been convicted of a felony in any degree, must have resided in the Hartsdale Fire District for at least thirty (30) days prior to the election, and must remain a resident of the Fire District throughout the term of office.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that under the provisions of Section 176, subdivision 7 of the Town Law, all candidates for the office of Fire Commissioner shall file their names with the Secretary of the Hartsdale Fire District, Christine K. Kane, at 300 West Hartsdale Avenue, Hartsdale, New York, at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of the election. Nominations must be submitted in petition form, signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the Hartsdale Fire District. In 2025, all petitions must be filed with the Fire District Secretary on or before 3:30 P.M. on November 19th. A nominating petition form shall be provided by the Fire District Secretary upon request by any candidate.
Please note that no electioneering is permitted within 100 feet of the polling place during voting hours, including signs, buttons, posters, or verbal advocacy.
