NOTICE OF DECISION
Please take notice that the Borough of Haddonfield Zoning Board of Adjustment ("Board") has granted an application for development filed by Andrew and Danielle DeMaio (collectively, the "Applicant") regarding real property with a street address 221 Hopkins Avenue, designated as Block 11.02, Lot 2.03 on the current municipal tax map. The Board granted variance approval for the construction of a second story addition with the footprint of the existing rear, one-story portion of their home.
The Board granted the following variances under the municipal land use ordinance:
1. Section 135-32(D)(2)(b) requires a minimum single side yard setback of 10 ft. The existing home has a side yard setback of 4.62 ft. The Board approved a vertical expansion of the existing side yard setback of 4.62 ft;
2. Section 135-32(D)(4)(b) requires a minimum front yard setback of 34.1 ft. The Board approved a front yard setback of 32.6 ft (existing nonconforming condition; no change proposed); and
3. Section 135-32(D)(4)(b) permits maximum impervious coverage of 40%. The Board approved an impervious coverage of 48.5% (existing nonconforming condition; no change proposed).
The Board granted this application on April 21, 2026 and its decision was memorialized in a written resolution that the Board adopted on May 19, 2026. A copy of the memorializing resolution is filed in the office of the municipal administrative officer. A copy is available to any interested party for a reasonable fee and is available for public inspection during municipal business hours.
