NOTICE OF FEDERAL PRIMARY ELECTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Federal Primary Election for Cascade County, Montana will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 7:00a.m. to 8:00p.m.
Ballots were sent to absent military and overseas citizen electors on April 17, 2026.
Absentee ballots were mailed to all eligible registered voters on May 8, 2026, and must be returned by mail to the Cascade County Election Office, P.O. Box 2305, Great Falls, Montana 59403-2305; or in person to the Cascade County Election Office, 325 2nd Ave North, Great Falls, Montana during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. weekdays) May 11 to June 1. An exterior drop box is available 24 hours/7 days a week at the front entrance of the Courthouse Annex.
New law – per 13-13-201 (2)(e), M.C.A., the year of birth must be provided on the signature envelope in addition to the signature. Per 13-13-213 (3)(b), M.C.A., a ballot may be rejected if no signature or birth year are provided or the information does not match the registration form. The election administrator shall notify the elector if their ballot is rejected.
On Election Day, June 2, 2026, voted absentee ballots can be deposited at the following sites: Cascade County Election Office, 325 2nd Ave North, Great Falls, Montana, and Exhibition Hall at the Montana Expo Park, 400 3rd St. NW, Great Falls, Montana. Both deposit sites will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. A drive-thru drop box will be available and located in the parking lot across from Exhibition Hall on Election Day.
A qualified voter who will be absent from the area during the time of the election is being conducted may: (a) request an absentee ballot in person in the Cascade County Election Office starting May 4, or (b) make a written request, signed by the applicant and addressed to the election administrator that the ballot be mailed to an address other than that which appears on the registration card.
If a voter missed the regular registration deadline of May 4 (30 days prior to the election), they may complete late registration beginning May 5 – through noon on June 1 (the day before the election), by going in person to the Cascade County Election Office. On Election Day, June 2, voters can update their registration information or reactivate their registration status and receive a ballot at their polling location from 7:00am to 8:00pm. New registrations on Election Day will require the voter to appear in person at the Election Office temporarily relocated to Exhibition Hall, 400 3rd St. NW, at Montana Expo Park, Great Falls, MT.
