NOTICE OF FILING OF APPLICATION FOR CAMA MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PERMIT The Department of Environmental Quality hereby gives public notice as required by NCGS 113A-119(b) that the following applications were submitted for a development permit in Areas of Environmental Concern as designated under the CAMA: On October 30, 2025, Kurt Scheetz et al. proposed to install an approx. 725ft long riprap sill with a max width of 12 ft waterward of the existing bulkheads from 240 E Bay St through Parcel 238IB00602 (413 E Bay) along the Cape Fear River in Southport, Brunswick County; And on October 29, 2025 Crown Pointe HOA, Inc. proposed to add a second access spine for a new nine (9) slip community docking facility off of the east side of an existing community access pier and platform at Crown Pointe Rd., adj. to Virginia Creek in Hampstead, Pender County. Copies of these applications can be examined or copied at the office of Courtney Milliron (Brunswick County) or Phil D'Angelis (Pender County) N.C. Dept. of Environmental Quality, Division of Coastal Management, 127 Cardinal Drive Ext., Wilmington, NC 28405, (910) 796-7423 (Courtney) or (910) 796-7240 (Phil) during normal business hours. Comments mailed to Tancred Miller, Director, Division of Coastal Management, 400 Commerce Avenue, Morehead City, NC 28557-3421, prior to November 25, 2025 will be considered in making the permit decision. Later comments will be accepted and considered up to the time of permit decision. Project modification may occur based on review and comment by the public and state and federal agencies.
