NOTICE OF FILING OF APPLICATION FOR CAMA MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PERMIT The Department of Environmental Quality hereby gives public notice as required by NCGS 113A-119(b) that the following applications were submitted for a development permit in Areas of Environmental Concern as designated under the CAMA: On March 16, 2026, Caison's Creek POA, Inc. proposed to replace a 1,150' x 6' pier with associated ten (10) slip community open water floating dock at Heron Watch Dr. SW adj. to the AIWW, Holden Beach, Brunswick County; And on March 16, 2026, Southern Marinas Calabash LP proposed to expand the existing marina excavation footprint & develop a previously authorized 25' x 1' wide groin along the Calabash River at 1207 Riverview Dr., adj. to the Calabash River, Calabash, Brunswick County. Copies of these applications can be examined or copied at the office of Austin Turbitt N.C. Dept. of Environmental Quality, Division of Coastal Management, 127 Cardinal Drive Ext., Wilmington, NC 28405, (910) 796-7227 during normal business hours. Comments mailed to Tancred Miller, Director, Division of Coastal Management, 400 Commerce Avenue, Morehead City, NC 28557-3421, prior to April 10, 2026 will be considered in making the permit decision. Later comments will be accepted and considered up to the time of permit decision. Project modification may occur based on review and comment by the public and state and federal agencies.
