NOTICE OF FILING OF
APPLICATION FOR CAMA MAJOR
DEVELOPMENT PERMIT
The Department of Environmental Quality hereby gives public notice as required by NCGS 113A-119(b) that the following applications were submitted for a development permit in Areas of Environmental Concern as designated under the CAMA: On June 30, 2026, Richard & Donna Byrd proposed new mechanical excavation at an existing private docking facility extending into the USACE Federal Channel Setback within the AIWW at 3787 Windy Point Rd. in Supply, Brunswick County; On June 30, 2026, Murdock Taylor Family Trust proposed new mechanical excavation at an existing private docking facility extending into the USACE Federal Channel Setback within the AIWW at 3793 Windy Point Rd. in Supply, Brunswick County; And on June 30, 2026, Alexis Trask proposed to demo an existing private docking facility & construct a new private five (5) slip docking facility consisting of four (4) boatlifts & a covered platform at 2080 Scotts Hill Loop Rd., adj. to the AIWW in Wilmington, Pender County. Copies of these applications can be examined or copied at the office of Austin Turbitt (Brunswick County) or Phil D'Angelis (Pender County) N.C. Dept. of Environmental Quality, Division of Coastal Management, 127 Cardinal Drive Ext., Wilmington, NC 28405, (910) 796-7227 (Turbitt) or (910) 796-740 (Phil) during normal business hours.
Comments mailed to Tancred Miller, Director, Division of Coastal Management, 400 Commerce Avenue, Morehead City, NC 28557-3421, prior to July 26, 2026 will be considered in making the permit decision. Later comments will be accepted and considered up to the time of permit decision. Project modification may occur based on review and comment by the public and state and federal agencies. Notice of the permit decision in these matters will be provided upon written request.
