NOTICE OF FILING OF APPLICATION FOR CAMA MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PERMIT The Department of Environmental Quality hereby gives public notice as required by NCGS 113A-119(b) that the following applications were submitted for a development permit in Areas of Environmental Concern as designated under the CAMA: On July 2, 2026, Channel Haven Company, LLC proposed to construct a new nine (9) slip docking facility within the canal at "Tract A" Channel Haven Subdivision adj. to Masonboro Sound/AIWW in Wilmington, New Hanover County; On July 2, 2026, Raymond Hang proposed to install a new vinyl bulkhead approx. 5' waterward of the current failing bulkhead & a 50' wing wall/retaining wall on the north side of the property resulting in the fill of approx. 166 sq. ft. of coastal wetlands at 903 Canal Dr., adj. to the Carolina Beach Yacht Basin, Carolina Beach, New Hanover County; And on July 2, 2026, Hoos on the Beach, LLC proposed to install an approx. 49 linear ft. bulkhead, 4 ft. below NHW in front of the existing failing wall resulting in the fill of approx. 156 sq. ft. of Coastal Wetlands, along w/ the installation of a new concrete slab beneath the existing dwelling at 401 Sailfish St., adj. to a manmade canal in Sunset Beach, Brunswick County. Comments mailed to Tancred Miller, Director, Division of Coastal Management, 400 Commerce Avenue, Morehead City, NC 28557-3421, prior to July 30, 2026 will be considered in making the permit decision. Later comments will be accepted and considered up to the time of permit decision. Project modification may occur based on review and comment by the public and state and federal agencies.
