NOTICE OF HEARING FOR LIEBENZELL MISSION OF USA PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that Liebenzell Mission of USA has made an application to the Washington Township Land Use Board for the property known as Block 30 Lots 34 & 42 located on Pleasant Grove Road and Heath Lane, Washington Township, Morris County, New Jersey. The property is situated in the Township's "R-2" Zone District. The Applicant is seeking to amend or eliminate the conditions set forth in prior resolutions 85-20 including eliminating the condition that limited the camp's use to only June 21 through Labor Day ("Summer"); Christmas week, which was defined as December 24th through January 1st, Easter week, which was defined as the week immediately preceding Easter Sunday; and Thanksgiving weekend. Further Liebenzell would like to eliminate the condition that restricted the camp to only one weekend a month during the months of September through June and to allow the weekend use to begin earlier than 6 p.m. on Friday. Liebenzell would also like to modify the conditions that precludes outdoor activities after sunset. Additionally, it would like to have a tent for gatherings that could hold more than 150 people and allow some campers to sleep in tents during their stay. The Applicant further requests such variances, waivers, permits, approvals or licenses that are deemed necessary or appropriate upon review by the applicant or the Board. This application is listed on the calendar before the Washington Township Land Use Board and an in-person public hearing has been set for May 6, 2026, at the Municipal Building, 43 Schooley's Mountain Road, Long Valley, New Jersey 07853 at 7:00 P.M. When the case is called, you may appear either in person or by attorney to present any evidence or make any comments, which you may have regarding the application. The matter will be heard on the above date or any adjourned date designated by the Land Use Board at this public meeting without additional notice. The maps, plans, plats and application for which approval is being sought are on file with the Land Use Board Administrator and are available for inspection at the Municipal Building during normal business hours.
