NOTICE OF HEARINGS CONCERNING AMENDMENTS TO THE ATHENS-CLARKE COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES: ZONING MAP AMENDMENTS
The Athens-Clarke County Planning Commission has forwarded to the Mayor and Commission of Athens-Clarke County, Georgia its recommendation on the following proposed amendment to the Athens-Clarke County Code of Ordinances, which may be approved as specifically set forth below or in such other appropriate manner as determined by the Mayor and Commission:
Future Land Use change from Single-Family Residential to Rural at 1490 Whit Davis Road. (Athens-Clarke County Tax Parcel 244 010)Rezone from RS-25 (Single-Family Residential) to AR (Agricultural Residential) at 1490 Whit Davis Road. (Athens-Clarke County Tax Parcel 244 010)Special Use Permit in C-G (Commercial-General) at 1960 Barnett Shoals Road. (Athens-Clarke County Tax Parcel 182B007D)Special Use Permit with variances in C-O (Commercial-General) at 357 S. Milledge Avenue. (Athens-Clarke County Tax Parcel 171C1 D007)Modification of existing zoning condition at 1125 Newton Bridge Road. (Athens-Clarke County Tax Parcel 104 002)
The Mayor and Commission of Athens-Clarke County will consider the items described above at public hearings on August 4, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Commission Chamber at 301 College Avenue, Athens-Clarke County, Georgia. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
The Athens-Clarke County Tax Maps and the proposal described above are on file and available for inspection in the office of the Athens-Clarke County Planning Department at 120 W. Dougherty Street. Telephone 706-613-3515 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
