NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT, AMEND, AND RESCIND RULES AND OF PUBLIC HEARING
The School Board of Martin County, Florida, gives notice of intent to adopt/amend/rescind policies as listed below, and that it will hold a public hearing to which all persons are invited to participate in this meeting by watching the live-streamed meeting.
Rule Development Workshop will be held on: Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 4:00 p.m., School Board Meeting Room, 1939 SE Federal Highway., Stuart, Florida.
Public Hearing – First Reading will be held on: Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 4:00 p.m., Regular School Board Meeting, School Board Meeting Room, 1939 SE Federal Highway, Stuart, Florida.
Purpose and Effect: To receive public input on the proposed adoption/amendment/rescinding of policies. The purpose and effect of the proposed rulemaking is to accomplish a general review and update of the School Board's policy manual to ensure the policies address current conditions, better achieve the School Board's mission and vision, and incorporate changes in applicable law, and current legislation.

Summary of Statement of Estimated Regulatory Cost: No statement of estimated regulatory costs has been prepared. Any person who wishes to provide information regarding the statement of estimated regulatory costs, or to provide a proposal for a lower cost regulatory alternative, must do so in writing within 21 days of this notice. The proposed policy changes are not expected to require legislative ratification.
A draft copy of the policies being developed may be obtained without cost at the Office of the Superintendent or on the district's website, www.martinschools.org. Any person who decides to appeal a decision with respect to a matter considered at the workshop/1st read is hereby advised that, for such purpose, such person may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the meeting is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
