NOTICE OF INTENT TO HOLD A PUBLIC LEGISLATIVE HEARING
ON THE QUESTION OF
A JOINT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT CONVEYANCE
TO SELL REAL ESTATE ON EAST CATAWBA AVE., EAST CENTRAL AVE., AND MUNICIPAL LANE IN DOWNTOWN MOUNT HOLLY, NC,
FOR REDEVELOPMENT UNDER NCGS 160D-1315
The public will take notice that the City Council of the City of Mount Holly intends at its regular Council meeting at 6:30 PM on the 23rd of March, 2026, at the Mount Holly Municipal Complex, 400 E. Central Avenue, Mount Holly, NC, 28120, to hold a public legislative hearing on the question of approving a contract to sell the real property owned by the City located at or near East Catawba Ave., East Central Ave., and Municipal Lane, in downtown Mount Holly, NC, having tax parcel numbers 123829, 123828, 123827, 123826, 123821, 123822, 123824, 123820, 123793, 123790, 123789, and 123785, to SLRH N CAROLINA ACQUISITIONS, LLC, through private negotiation and sale for residential and potential commercial use as part of a downtown development project or joint development project under NCGS 160D-1315. The interest to be conveyed is fee simple. The appraised value of the property to be sold is $2,540,000.00 subject to the covenant of the proposed buyer to demolish the existing buildings and other improvements on all parcels except parcel 123822 located at 120 E. Central Ave., Mount Holly, NC. The proposed consideration is not less than $3,150,000.00, which funds buyer shall deposit into an escrow account and use to pay for the construction of the public park portion of the joint development project. The public park will be constructed pursuant to the joint development project on adjacent property also owned by the City located at or near East Catawba Ave., East Central Ave., and Municipal Lane, in downtown Mount Holly, NC, having tax parcel numbers 123784, 123780, 123838, 123837, 123836, 123835, 123834 and 123833, which property shall be retained by the City for public purposes. The City Council of the City of Mount Holly intends to approve the conveyance as described herein after the public legislative hearing which is the subject of this notice.
