NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE PLANNING BOARD OF THE TOWNSHIP OF EDISON TO CONSIDER ADOPTION OF A HOUSING ELEMENT AND FAIR SHARE PLAN OF THE MASTER PLAN OF THE TOWNSHIP OF EDISON ADDRESSING THE FOURTH ROUND AFFORDABLE HOUSING COMPLIANCE CYCLE PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Edison Municipal Complex, located at 100 Municipal Boulevard, Edison, New Jersey 08817, the Planning Board of the Township of Edison (hereinafter the "Board"), will meet and conduct a public hearing to consider adopting a Housing Element and Fair Share Plan (the "HEFSP") of the Master Plan addressing the Township's affordable housing obligations for the compliance cycle known as the "Fourth Round" (years 2025–2035). Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-13 and N.J.S.A. 40:55D-28, the Board may prepare and, after public hearing, adopt or amend a Master Plan or component parts thereof to guide the use of land within the municipality in a manner which protects public health and safety and promotes the general welfare. The HEFSP was prepared in accordance with the New Jersey Fair Housing Act, N.J.S.A. 52:27D-301, et seq., as amended by P.L. 2024, c.2, and it identifies the Township's Fourth Round affordable housing obligations and the planning, zoning, and other implementation mechanisms by which the Township will provide a realistic opportunity for the construction or rehabilitation of low- and moderate-income housing. Any person affected by or interested in this matter will have the opportunity during the hearing to present any comments to the Board. The HEFSP will be available to the public for inspection at least ten (10) days prior to the date of the hearing, Monday through Friday during normal business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Clerk's Office located at the Municipal Complex, 100 Municipal Boulevard, Edison, New Jersey 08817.
