NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ELECTION
CLEVELAND COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in pursuant to NC GS 163-33 that a Municipal Election will be held on November 4, 2025, to vote on the following contests:
Water Board Commissioner; Belwood Commissioner; Boiling Springs Mayor; Boiling Springs Council Member; Casar Mayor; Casar Commissioner; Earl Mayor; Earl Council Member; Fallston Mayor; Fallston Council Member; Grover Commissioner; Kings Mountain Ward #2, Ward #3, At-Large Council Member; Kingstown Mayor; Kingstown Council Member; Lattimore Mayor; Lattimore Alderman; Lawndale Mayor; Lawndale Commissioner; Mooresboro Council Member; Patterson Springs Commissioner; Polkville Commissioner; Shelby Ward #1, Ward #4, Ward #5 Council Member; Waco Alderman; Town of Lawndale Mixed Beverage Election
Voters will be asked to show photo ID when they vote. All voters will be allowed to vote with or without ID. Voters who lack ID can get one for free from their county board of elections. Find out more at ncsbe.gov/voter-id.
The polls will be open for voting on Election Day from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm. Residents of Cleveland County registered to vote within one of these jurisdictions are eligible to vote. Voters who are already registered to vote need not re-register. Residents who are not registered to vote or those registered who need to make changes must do so by Friday, October 10, 2025, 5:00pm.
Early voting will begin Thursday, October 16, 2025, and will continue through Saturday, November 1, 2025. There is ONE early voting location for this election. Schedule is as follows:

Voters who are not registered in the county by October 10, 2025, may still register and vote during the early voting period. Persons who register during early voting will be required to provide proof of residency.
Any qualified voter may vote an absentee ballot by mail. Absentee ballots will be available starting Friday, October 3, 2025. The deadline for applying for an absentee ballot by mail is 5:00pm on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Completed ballots should be returned to the office on or before Tuesday, November 4, 2025, by 7:30pm.
The Board of Elections will hold meetings each of the following dates for the purpose of approving absentee ballots if necessary: October 14 (5:00pm), October 21 (5:00pm), October 28 (5:00pm) and November 3 (5:00pm). Absentee ballots will be counted on Election Day at the Board of Elections office.
Unofficial election results will be released no earlier than 7:30pm on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Official election results will be certified at the Canvass Meeting.
The Sample hand-to-eye count will be held at the Board of Elections Office on Thursday, November 6, 2025 (9:00am).
The Canvass meeting will be held at the Board of Elections Office on Friday, November 14, 2025 (11:00am).
