NOTICE OF PETITION FOR ANNEXATION
Notice is hereby given that there was presented to the Board of County Commissioners of Sandusky County, Ohio, on the 5th day of August, 2025, a Petition signed by a majority of the owners residing on the hereinafter described territory praying that said territory be annexed to the City of Clyde, Ohio in the manner provided by law.
The territory sought to be annexed is as follows:
Being a parcel of land situated in the northeast quarter of Section 22, Green Creek Township, Township-4-North, Range-16-East, Sandusky County, Ohio described as follows: Commencing at a found nail marking the intersection of the east-west quarter section line of said Section 22 and the centerline intersection of County Road 197 also known as Limerick Road and County Road 179 also known as West Maple Street; thence N 58° 40' 28" E one thousand four hundred ninety-nine and twenty-nine hundredths (1499.29) feet along the centerline of County Road 179 also known as West Maple Street to a set nail marking the southeasterly comer of a 36.3179 acre parcel of land now or formerly owned by the Whirlpool Corp. as described in Sandusky County Deed Volume 370, page 846, THE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence N 28° 13' 11" W three hundred ninety-three and twenty-four hundredths (393.24) feet along an easterly line of said Whirlpool Corp.'s 36.3179 acre parcel to a found 3/4" diameter iron rod, passing a found 3/4" diameter iron rod marking the northerly right-of-way of County Road 179 also known as West Maple Street at 30.03 feet; thence N 00° 07' 55" E three hundred three and eighty-four hundredths (303.84) feet along an easterly line of said Whirlpool Corp.' s 36.3179 acre parcel to a found 3" diameter metal post set in concrete marking a southerly corporation line of the City of Clyde and the southwesterly comer of Lot 2488 of the Replat of Camelot Subdivision, Plat 4 as recorded in Sandusky County Plat Volume 22, page 13; thence S 89° 23' 23" E five hundred twenty-two and fifty-five hundredths (522.55) feet along the southerly line of said Lot 2488 and southerly lines of Lot 2475 and Lot 2474 of the Replat of Camelot Subdivision, Plat 3 as recorded in Sandusky County Plat Volume 22, page 12 and said City of Clyde corporation line to a found 1/2" diameter iron rod set in concrete marking a westerly line of said Lot 2474, passing a found 5/8" diameter iron rod with a cap marked Peterman on line for reference at 12.62 feet and a found 1/2" diameter iron rod set in concrete at 466.62 feet marking the most southerly comer of said Lot 2475 and the southwesterly comer of said Lot 2474; thence S 11 ° 40' 37"E three hundred ninety-eight and sixty-four hundredths (398.64) feet along the westerly line of said Lot 2474 and the westerly line of a parcel of land now or formerly owned by Tenneb, Inc. as described in Sandusky County Deed Volume 358, page 555, said parcel of land being part of Outlot 126 and said City of Clyde corporation line to a set nail marking the centerline of County Road 179 also known as West Maple Street, passing a found 1/2" diameter iron rod with a cap marked Yeager on line for reference at 366.64 feet; thence S 58° 40' 28" W three hundred twenty-one and ninety-three hundredths (321.93) feet along the centerline of County Road 179 also known as West Maple Street and the City of Clyde corporation line to a found nail marking the southeasterly comer of a 1.000 acre parcel of land now or formerly owned by Andew F. Brumbaugh as described in Sandusky County Official Record Volume 255, page 1793 and the City of Clyde corporation line, passing a found nail on line for reference at 157.54 feet marking the southeasterly comer of a 1.081 acre parcel of land now or formerly owned by Matthew J. and Katja E. Soper as described in Sandusky County Official Record Volume 214, page 2317; thence N 28° 40' 59" W two hundred ninety and seventy-one hundredths (290.71) feet along the easterly line of said Brumbaugh's 1.000 acre parcel of land and the City of Clyde corporation line to a found 3/4" diameter iron pipe marking the northeasterly comer thereof; thence S 58° 40' 28" W one hundred fifty and zero hundredths (150.00) feet along the northerly line of said Brumbaugh' s 1.000 acre parcel of land and the City of Clyde corporation line to a found chain link fence post set in concrete marking the northwesterly comer thereof; thence S 28° 40' 58"E two hundred ninety and seventy-one hundredths (290.71) feet along the westerly line of said Brumbaugh's 1.000 acre parcel of land and the City of Clyde corporation line to a set nail marking the southwesterly comer thereof and the centerline of County Road 179 also known as West Maple Street, passing a found 3/4" diameter iron rod on line for reference at 260.78 feet; thence S 58° 40' 28" W seventeen and thirty-five hundredths (17.35) feet along the centerline of County Road 179 also known as West Maple Street to THE POINT OF BEGINNING. Containing in all, 5.648 acres of land, more or less, subject to all legal highways and easements. There are 0.237 acres of the 5.648 acre parcel in the road right-of-way. The bearing of County Road 179 also known as West Maple Street is assumed N 50° 40' 28" E. Bearings are assumed and for angular measurement only. This 5.648 acre legal description is based upon an actual field survey by James G. Homan, Jr., P.S. #6972, HANK and Associates, Inc., 137 South Washington Street, Tiffin, Ohio in September, 2023.
The undersigned was named in said Petition as the agent of the petitioners in accordance with the law.
The said Board of Commissioners has fixed the 23rd day of October, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. as the time for hearing on the aforesaid petition, said hearing to be held at the Commissioner's Boardroom located at 622 Croghan Street, Fremont, OH 43420.
