NOTICE OF PROPOSED ENACTMENT OF ORDINANCE 26-009 CITY OF SANIBEL, FLORIDA The Sanibel City Council will meet and hold the Second Reading and Public Hearing of Ordinance 26-009 on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at Sanibel City Hall, MacKenzie Hall, 800 Dunlop Road, Sanibel, Florida, at 9:05 a.m. to consider proposed enactment of the following ordinance to be titled: Limited Exemption for Height for Evaluating Existing Structure ORDINANCE 26-009 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANIBEL, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES SUBPART B LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE, CHAPTER 126, ZONING, ARTICLE V, NONCONFORMANCES DIVISION 3, STRUCTURES, SECTION 126-172, (NONCONFORMING STRUCTURES) IMPROVEMENT, RECONSTRUCTION, OR RELOCATION PROHIBITED; EXCEPTIONS; AND DIVISION 5, STANDARDS FOR BUILDING-BACK (RECONSTRUCTION) OF STRUCTURES SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED BY A NATURAL DISASTER, SECTION 126-212, NONCONFORMING STRUCTURES, TO ALLOW A LIMITED EXCEPTION TO HEIGHT LIMITATIONS FOR ELEVATION OF EXISTING STRUCTURES; FOR THE PURPOSE OF UPDATING THE LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE REGULATIONS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE Said proposed ordinance is on file and may be inspected by the public at the City Clerk's office, Sanibel City Hall, 800 Dunlop Road, Sanibel, Florida. All interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinances. If a person decides to appeal a decision made by Council on any matter considered at this meeting/hearing, such person may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, including the testimony and evidence upon which any such appeal is to be based.
