Notice is Hereby Given that the City Council of the City of Indian Wells, will hold a public hearing pursuant to Government Code Section 66015 at its regular meeting of October 16, 2025, beginning at 1:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, in the City Council Chambers, 44-950 Eldorado Drive, Indian Wells, California, to hear public testimony of all interested parties for the purpose of:
Implementation of a new commercial kitchen fire compliance assessment program, which includes the imposition of fees to recover the costs associated with annual compliance verification of commercial kitchen hood and hood suppression systems.
Information regarding the program, or how the fees are being calculated is available for public review at City Hall, Community Development Counter during regular business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). This Project has been assessed in accordance with the authority and criteria contained in the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the State and local CEQA Guidelines, and the environmental regulations of the City. The proposed program will have no significant effect on the environment and is exempt from the California Environmental Quality ("CEQA") pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) of the guidelines – Review for Exemption, as establishing the proposed fees related to commercial kitchen compliance does not have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment.
Any interested person may attend the meeting and be heard or present written comments to the City Council at or prior to the conclusion of the public hearing. According to Government Code Section 65009, if you challenge the Commission's action in court or at an administrative proceeding, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the City, either at or prior to the public hearing.
