NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING- CITY OF SOLEDAD NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Soledad will conduct a Public Hearing on October 1st, 2025, in the Council Chambers at 248 Main Street, Soledad, California, to consider the following item: Resolution No. 6284, A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Soledad Adopting the Final Draft of the Soledad Parks and Recreation Masterplan for the City of Soledad. It is recommended that the City Council of the City of Soledad approve and accept the Soledad Parks and Recreation Masterplan for formal adoption. The Parks and Recreation Master Plan is a comprehensive 20-year planning document that guides the City's future investments in parks, recreational facilities, and community programs. Developed with significant community input and aligned with the City's General Plan update, the Master Plan outlines goals, policies, and recommendations to improve access, promote wellness, increase equity, and ensure long-term sustainability of parks and recreation services. Pursuant to Soledad Municipal Code Section 12.20.040, the Planning Commission, serving as the Park and Beautification Commission, held a public hearing on August 28, 2025, to consider specific plan applications. Following the hearing, the Commission voted 3-0 to recommend approval of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan, which will now be forwarded to the City Council for final adoption.The adoption of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15262, as the Plan is a planning document that does not commit the City to any specific project or physical improvements. Environmental impacts of any future projects identified in the Plan will be evaluated separately in accordance with CEQA prior to their implementation.
