NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING MERGER OF MADISON, TIPPECANOE AND DEER CREEK TOWNSHIPS, CARROLL COUNTY, INDIANA
Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of Deer Creek, Madison and Tippecanoe Townships, all of Carroll County, Indiana that the Deer Creek Township Board, Madison Township Board, and Tippecanoe Township Board will hold a joint public hearing to consider and vote on respective resolutions to merge those three Townships into a single Township all pursuant to Ind. Code IC 36-1.5-1-1. The hearing will be held at 101 South Union Street, Delphi, IN 46923 at 4:30 pm on October 22, 2025. Taxpayers appearing at said meeting shall have a right to be heard on the matters presented.
This proposed consolidation would establish a single, unified township government effective in 2026. As part of this process, the Townships are requesting approval for the following financial provisions for the consolidated township government, beginning with the 2026 budget year:
Initial maximum property tax levy: $115,000, Total proposed budget (General, Township Assistance, Recreation, and Cemetery funds): $398,960. Following consolidation, the new township government will be administered by the current Deer Creek Township Trustee, who will manage the consolidated budget and levy. This notice is provided in accordance with IC 36-6-1.5-12 to inform taxpayers of the proposed budget and levy for the 2026 budget year under the new consolidated government structure.
