NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
City of Hoboken Planning Board
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City of Hoboken Planning Board (the "Board") will hold a public hearing at a special meeting of the Board on June 9, 2026 at 7:00 PM at the City of Hoboken City Hall, 94 Washington Street, Hoboken, New Jersey 07030, to review and take formal action upon an application for preliminary and final major site plan approval (the "Application") by Trustees of Stevens Institute of Technology (a/k/a Stevens Institute of Technology) (the "Applicant") with respect to property having a street address of Castle Point 6th to 10th Street (a/k/a 1 Castle Point Terrace), Hoboken, New Jersey 07030 and being designated as Block 235, Lot 1, on the City of Hoboken Tax Map (collectively, the "Property"). The Property is located in the Edge Sub-Area of the U University Zoning District in the City of Hoboken.
The Applicant proposes to demolish the existing Davis Hall dormitory building and related improvements on the Property and to construct a new 13-story, approximately 248,000 square foot mixed-use building to contain academic and research/office facilities as well as student housing (to be known as the "Digital Innovation Hall"); within the proposed Digital Innovation Hall, seven (7) of the floors/stories shall be student housing, and six (6) of the floors/stories shall be for the academic and research/office facilities, along with a lower level to include academic and research/office facilities. The Applicant also proposes related site improvements, including but not limited to lighting, landscaping, grading, utility and stormwater management infrastructure.
The Applicant also seeks any deviations, exceptions, design waivers, submission waivers, variances, interpretations, de minimis exceptions to the State of New Jersey Residential Site Improvement Standards, continuations of any pre-existing non-conforming conditions, modifications of prior imposed conditions and other approvals reflected on the filed plans (as same may be further amended or revised from time to time without further notice) and as may be determined to be necessary during the review and processing of the Application.
When this case is called, interested parties may appear, either in person or by attorney, and present any comments or questions which they may have regarding this Application. The public hearing may be continued without further notice on such additional or other dates as the Board may determine.
