The Planning Commission of the City of the Village of Douglas will hold a Public Hearing on January 8, 2026, at 6:00 pm, to consider the following application:
An amendment to the City of the Village of Douglas Zoning Ordinance is being considered to modify Article 26, Special Use Standards, Section 26.27 (Place of Public Assembly); Article 3, Zoning Districts and Maps, Section 3.11 (Table of Land Uses); and Article 10, C-1 Village Center District, Section 10.02 (District Summary and Special Land Uses).
The proposed amendment would revise the permitted and/or special land use status of Place of Public Assembly – Small within the C-1 Village Center District, and correction to Section 3.11 Table of Land Uses.
This draft ordinance amendment is available at the City of the Village of Douglas offices for public examination and review during normal business hours. Interested persons may submit comments in writing before the public hearing or appear in person at the public hearing to become part of the hearing record. The City of Douglas will provide necessary and reasonable aids and services for disabled persons upon 7 days prior notice to the City Offices at (269) 857-1438.
