NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
HOLLAND CHARTER TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
1. That the Planning Commission of the Charter Township of Holland, Ottawa County, Michigan, will hold a public hearing at the Holland Charter Township Offices, 353 N. 120th Avenue, Holland Charter Township, Ottawa County, Michigan on Tuesday, the 7th day of October, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., or thereafter, to hear and consider the following matters:
(a) Consideration of an Amendment to the Macatawa Legends Planned Unit Development Final Development Plan, submitted by Kelly Kuiper of Paramount Development Corp. on behalf of REIP Land Investments LLC for land located generally south of New Holland Street and east of 144th Avenue on lands in Holland Charter Township, Ottawa County, Michigan, described generally as follows:
ALL THAT LAND LOCATED IN THE NORTH ONE-HALF OF SECTION 6, TOWN 5 NORTH, RANGE 15 WEST, HOLLAND CHARTER TOWNSHIP, OTTAWA COUNTY, MICHIGAN, COMMONLY KNOWN AS "MACATAWA LEGENDS."
The proposed amendment includes changes in the Phase 2 of the Fairway View Development phase. The proposed amendment generally affects the future development phase containing Parcel Number 70-16-06-400-028. Changes consist of: (1) increasing the overall unit count for the Macatawa Legends PUD by 1 unit, from 605 to 606 total dwelling units, by increasing the total unit count within Fairway View by 1 unit from 108 to 109 total dwelling units; (2) reducing the site condominium width of several units on the south side of proposed road in Phase 2 of Fairway View; and (3) that private streets within Phase 2 of Fairway View will be constructed in compliance with Zoning Ordinance requirements but that surface course pavement shall be installed within 2 years of the date the development phase has been issued its first building permit.
(b) Consideration of a Special Land Use Permit approval for a Place of Worship that includes "Pathway of Hope" family support program, food pantry, Thursday Family Meals & Activities, women's fellowship group, book club, Christian day camp, Christmas distribution, utilities/rent/food assistance, pickleball groups, warming and cooling center as needed, Meals by Community Action House's Community Kitchen, on-site referrals and supportive services by other nonprofit agencies, and shower services for guest/staff and existing missional outreach/hygiene support. Petition is submitted by Matthew Winters on behalf of the Salvation Army for property located at 104 Clover Avenue, described specifically as Parcel Number 70-16-28-252-063. The subject property is zoned R-2 Moderate Density Residential.
(c) Consideration of a Special Land Use Permit approval for boat repair, sales and display, and continued outdoor storage. Petition is submitted by Dave Lamer of Advantage Marine for property located at 483 Douglas Avenue, described specifically as Parcel Number 70-16-19-300-098. The subject property is zoned C-2 Community Commercial.
(d) Consideration of a Special Land Use Permit approval for Contractor's Facility use. Petition is submitted by Jeff Schierbeek of JDS LLC for property located at 12830 Quincy Street, described specifically as Parcel Number 70-16-08-200-036. The subject property is zoned I-2 General Industrial.
2. That any interested party may appear at such hearings in person, or by agent or attorney.
3. That written comments concerning the above matter(s) may be filed prior to the hearing with the Holland Charter Township Planning Commission at the Holland Charter Township Offices, 353 N. 120th Avenue, Holland, Michigan 49424, at any time Monday through Friday, other than a legal holiday, during regular business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Written comments may also be filed at the hearing, by telephone, or may be emailed before the meeting to: coreyb@hct.holland.mi.us. 4. That copies of the above requests are on file at the Holland Charter Township Offices, 353 N. 120th Avenue, Holland, Michigan, and may be inspected by any interested party during regular business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, other than a legal holiday.
5. The Charter Township of Holland will provide necessary and reasonable auxiliary aids and services at this hearing, such as signers for hearing-impaired persons and audiotapes of printed materials for visually impaired persons, upon receipt of five days prior notice.
