NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
HOLLAND CHARTER TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
1. That the Planning Commission of the Charter Township of Holland, Ottawa County, Michigan, will hold a public hearing at the Holland Charter Township Fire Station No. 1 located at 131 Riley Street, Holland Charter Township, Ottawa County, Michigan on Tuesday, the 3rd day of March, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., or thereafter, to hear and consider the following matters:
(a) Consideration of an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map of Holland Charter Township submitted by Aaron Besmer of Allen Edwin on behalf of Andrew & Deborah Tacoma Trust & Wesley and Necia Glass Trust. Petitioner is requesting to change the land hereafter described from AG Agriculture to R-2A Medium Density Residential:
PART OF THE EAST 1/2 OF THE NORTHEAST 1/4 OF THE NORTHWEST 1/4 OF SECTION 9, TOWN 5 NORTH, RANGE 15 WEST, DESCRIBED AS: BEGINNING A POINT ON THE NORTH LINE OF SECTION 9, DISTANT SOUTH 89 DEGREES 59 MINUTES 18 SECONDS WEST, 327.89 FEET FROM THE NORTH 1 / 4 CORNER OF SAID SECTION; PROCEEDING THENCE SOUTH 00 DEGREES 42 MINUTES 04 SECONDS EAST, 1192.13 FEET; THENCE SOUTH 89 DEGREES 59 MINUTES 39 SECONDS WEST, 329. 75 FEET; THENCE NORTH 00 DEGREES 36 MINUTES 42 SECONDS WEST, 1192.08 FEET; THENCE NORTH 89 DEGREES 59 MINUTES 18 SECONDS EAST, 327.89 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING.
Said vacant land is located along Quincy Street immediately west of 12450 Quincy Street and is described more specifically as Parcel Number 70-16-09-100-012.
(b) Consideration of a Special Land Use Permit approval for "Housing, independent and assisted living" for the addition of 34 independent living units and 9 memory care units for Phase 3 of Quincy Place Senior Living. Petition is submitted by Troy Bertsch of Leo Brown Group, LLC for land located at 12300 Quincy Street, described more specifically as Parcel Number 70-16-09-200-044. The subject property is zoned R-2A Medium Density Residential.
2. That any interested party may appear at such hearings in person, or by agent or attorney.
3. That written comments concerning the above matter(s) may be filed prior to the hearing with the Holland Charter Township Planning Commission at the Holland Charter Township Offices, 353 N. 120th Avenue, Holland, Michigan 49424, at any time Monday through Friday, other than a legal holiday, during regular business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Written comments may also be filed at the hearing, by telephone, or may be emailed before the meeting to: coreyb@hct.holland.mi.us. 4. That copies of the above requests are on file at the Holland Charter Township Offices, 353 N. 120th Avenue, Holland, Michigan, and may be inspected by any interested party during regular business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, other than a legal holiday.
5. This notice is posted in compliance with Public Act 267 of 1976, as amended, the Open Meetings Act, MCL 41.82a, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Charter of Holland Township will provide necessary reasonable aids and services, such as signers for the hearing-impaired and audiotapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities at the meeting upon five days' notice to the Charter of Holland Township in writing or calling the Clerk's Department at 353 N. 120th Avenue, Holland, Michigan 49424, Telephone (616) 396-2345.
