NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PLANNING BOARD OF THE CITY OF MILLVILLE
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, STATE OF NEW JERSEY
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City of Millville ("City") Planning Board ("Board") will hold a public hearing on October 14, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. ("Hearing"), in the Richard C. McCarthy Chambers on the 4th floor of City Hall located at 12 South High Street, Millville, New Jersey 08332, or at such other time and place as the Board may adjourn thereafter, to consider the application ("Application") made by Wal-Mart Real Estate Business Trust ("Applicant) regarding property located at 2225-2299 North 2nd Street, Millville, New Jersey 08332 and identified as 233, Lot 27 on the City's tax map ("Property"). The Property is approximately 36.008 acres (1,568,526 sq. ft.) in size and is in the City's Regional Commercial Zone. The Property is currently improved with a shopping center, which is occupied primarily by various retail uses, including a Walmart store operated by the Applicant, and associated improvements. A portion of the overall shopping center property is located in the City of Vineland and is known as Block 7006, Lot 1 on the tax map of the City of Vineland. The Application does not propose any improvements on the portion of the overall shopping center property located in the City of Vineland.
The Application seeks the installation of new freestanding signs and posts in and around the parking lot area in connection with the Applicant's online pickup and delivery services. In addition, the Application seeks striping improvements to identify proposed online pickup and delivery stalls, new cart coral spaces, new striped crosswalks, and new directional pavement markings. The Application also proposes certain improvements to the Walmart building frontage in connection with the online pickup and delivery operation. The Application is consistent with permitted uses within the Regional Commercial Zone. The Property contains certain existing nonconformities, none of which will be changed or altered by the Application. Existing nonconformities include front yard setback, minimum drive aisle width, and minimum stall size. The Application proposes to continue all existing nonconformities and variance conditions on the Property.
A copy of the Application and all supporting documentation is on file with the Board at the City's municipal building located at 12 South High Street, Millville, New Jersey 08332 and is available for review by interested persons during regular business days and hours. This Notice is given pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-1 et seq. Any interested person may appear in person, or through his or her attorney, at the Hearing at the time and place herein stated and be heard.
