NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PURSUANT TO NORTH CAROLINA GENERAL STATUTE §158-7.1. The City of Gastonia proposes to provide an Economic Development Grant pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 158-7.1, to Project Willow. The Gastonia City Council intends, subject to public comment at the public hearing for which notice is hereby given, to approve the City's standard Level Three or Level Four Economic Development Incentive Grant. Project Willow intends to invest approximately $71,000,000 to establish an industrial manufacturing operation. Project Willow plans to invest $19 million to construct a manufacturing facility and purchase $52 million in machinery and equipment. Project Willow anticipates creating 117 new jobs with an average annual salary exceeding $104,000 per year. The Gastonia City Council believes this project will stimulate and stabilize the local economy, promote business, increase the tax base, and create new jobs in the City. The Gastonia City Council shall hold a public hearing on the City's proposed grant at 6:00 o'clock p.m., in the City of Gastonia Council Chambers, 181 S South St., Gastonia, North Carolina, Tuesday, October 7th, 2025, at which time any person may be heard regarding the proposed grants described herein. All interested persons are invited to attend and present their views. Following the public hearing, the Gastonia City Council intends to consider the request to approve the grant.
