NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PURSUANT TO NORTH CAROLINA GENERAL STATUTE §158-7.1. The City of Gastonia proposes to provide an Economic Development Grant pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 158-7.1, to Project TECH. The Gastonia City Council intends, subject to public comment at the public hearing for which notice is hereby given, to approve the City's standard Level One (1) Economic Development Incentive to begin upon annexation, which will occur within one year of a certificate of occupancy being issued by Gaston County. Project TECH intends to invest approximately $6,300,000 to design and construct a manufacturing facility and create 12 new employment opportunities with an average annual salary of $68,000 in Apple Creek Corporate Center. The Gastonia City Council believes this project will stimulate and stabilize the local economy, promote business, increase the tax base, and create new jobs in the City. The Gastonia City Council shall hold a public hearing on the City's proposed grant at 6:00 o'clock p.m., in the Gastonia City Hall, 181 S. South Street, Gastonia, North Carolina, Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at which time any person may be heard regarding the proposed grants described herein. All interested persons are invited to attend and present their views. Following the public hearing, the Gastonia City Council intends to consider the request to approve the grant.
