NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
In accordance with the Ordinances of the City of Plainfield and the Statutes of the State of New
Jersey, please take notice that an Application for Development (Number: ZBA 2025-24) located
in the R-3 Moderate/Low Density Residential Zone, on the premises known as 1136 West 7th
Street, Plainfield, New Jersey (Block Number 536, Lot 47) has been submitted by Angle
Williamsbey, 1136 West 7th Street, Plainfield, New Jersey 07062.
The applicant seeks variance relief to permit the construction of a 448 square foot shed on the
property (measuring 14 feet by 32 feet). Specifically, applicant seeks supplemental zone
variances related to: accessory structure location (accessory structures not permitted in a front
yard and a portion of the proposed shed is located in the front yard of the property); accessory
structure maximum coverage (accessory structures limited to 35% of the ground area of the
principal structure to which they are accessory and the square footage of the proposed shed
exceeds 35% of the ground area of the principal structure on the property); and maximum
storage shed area (maximum of 150 square feet permitted for a storage shed and a shed
containing 448 square feet proposed).
The applicant is also seeking such other variances, waivers and other relief that the Board may
deem necessary.
The Plainfield Zoning Board of Adjustment will conduct a public hearing on this matter on
Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at the Plainfield City Hall Library, 515 Watchung
Avenue, Plainfield, New Jersey. Any person or persons affected by this application will have an
opportunity to present any objections to the proposed development. The Board does, however,
have the right to exclude repetitious testimony.
Copies of the application materials, including any maps, plans and documents relating to the
applications will be available at least ten (10) days prior to the hearing and may be inspected by
the public Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 am until 4:30 pm at the Division of
Planning and Community Development, Second Floor, City Hall, 515 Watchung Avenue,
Plainfield, New Jersey.
