NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) will conduct a public hearing on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. at DART's Administrative Offices, 620 Cherry Street, Des Moines, Iowa, 50309. The purpose of this hearing is to discuss an application from DART to the Iowa Department of Transportation for FY2027 financial assistance as follows: DART will request state transit assistance for $2,474,601 to support general operations and public transit infrastructure funding for $425,000 for a bus wash at DART's Operations and Maintenance Facility; these projects require $106,250 in local match. DART will also request federal transit assistance in the following amount. If approved the project requires $12,041 in local match. Operating Project: Section 5311 – Support Rural Transit Services State/Federal Amount: $12,041 These projects will not have significant detrimental environmental effects on the area, and no people or businesses will be displaced by these activities. These projects were developed in consultation with interested parties and are in conformance with the Transportation Improvement Program prepared by DART. Any interested person or agency is invited to attend this hearing and speak for or against this application for funding.
