NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors, acting as the governing body of San Joaquin County Groundwater Sustainability Agency No. 1 for the portion of the Eastern San Joaquin Subbasin within its jurisdiction, will hold a public hearing to consider adoption of a resolution establishing a groundwater sustainability fee pursuant to California Water Code section 10730.

Matter to Be Considered
At the public hearing, the Board of Supervisors will consider adoption of a Resolution imposing a groundwater sustainability fee to fund the reasonable regulatory costs of the groundwater sustainability program for San Joaquin County Groundwater Sustainability Agency No. 1 in the Eastern San Joaquin Subbasin, including, without limitation, costs associated with administration of the Groundwater Sustainability Plan, investigations, monitoring, reporting, compliance activities, and program administration, as authorized by California Water Code section 10730.
Availability of Data
The data upon which the proposed fee is based, including the fee report/study and related supporting materials, is available for public review prior to the hearing on the San Joaquin County groundwater sustainability webpage www.sjwater.org and at the San Joaquin County Department of Public Works / Water Resources office located at 1810 East Hazelton Avenue, Stockton, CA 95205 during regular business hours between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday - Friday.
Public Comment
At the public hearing, oral and written presentations may be made. Interested persons may appear and be heard regarding the proposed fee. Written comments may also be submitted in advance of the hearing to the San Joaquin County Clerk of the Board and/or the Department of Public Works, Water Resources Division, in the manner described in the posted agenda materials.
Additional Information
If adopted, the fee may be collected in the same manner as ordinary municipal ad valorem taxes, as authorized by California Water Code section 10730(d), or by other lawful means as specified in the adopting resolution.
