NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TOWNSHIP OF VOORHEES ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on July 9, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., the Township of Voorhees Zoning Board of Adjustment ("Board") will hold a public hearing to review and take formal action on the application of Muslim American Community Association, Inc. ("Applicant"). The public hearing will be held at the Voorhees Township Municipal Building, 2400 Voorhees Town Center, Voorhees, New Jersey 08043. The Applicant seeks Site Plan Waiver Approval (or Minor Site Plan approval, or Preliminary and Final Major Site Plan approval, if deemed necessary) (the "Application") to install security gates at the existing site driveways.
The property that is the subject of the Application is designated as Block 278, Lot 15 on the tax duplicate of the Township of Voorhees ("Township") with a street address of 3 Lafayette Avenue (the "Property"). The Property is approximately 2.46 acres and located in the Township's B Business Zoning District. The Property is currently improved with a Mosque, community center building, rectory, parking lot and associated site improvements. The Applicant was previously granted d(1) use variance and Preliminary and Final Major Site Plan approval for said improvements and use.
Applicant seeks approval to install security gates at the existing site driveways, as shown on the filed plan, which may be further amended from time to time without further notice.
The Applicant further seeks any additional deviations, exceptions, design waivers, submission waivers, variances, interpretations, continuations of certain pre-existing non-conforming conditions or uses, modifications of prior imposed conditions, and other approvals reflected on the filed plans (as same may be further amended or revised from time to time without further notice) and as may be determined to be necessary during the review and processing of the Application.
At least 10 days prior to the public hearing, the application, maps, plans and related supporting materials will be available for public inspection in the office of the Board which is located at Voorhees Township Municipal Building, 2400 Voorhees Town Center, Voorhees, New Jersey 08043 and may be inspected by the public during normal business hours, which are typically Mondays through Thursdays, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 pm, holidays excepted. Application materials may also be available for inspection on the Township's website at https://voorheesnj.com/government/boards-committees/zoning-board/
When the Application is called, interested parties may appear at the hearing, either themselves or by attorney, and present any questions, comments, objections, or testimony that they may have to the Application. Further take notice that the Board may, at its discretion, adjourn, postpone, or continue the hearing from time to time, and you are notified that you should make inquiry to the secretary of the Board and/or monitor updates on the Township website concerning such adjournments, postponements or continuations. In the event of a cancellation, you should make inquiry to the secretary of the Board and/or monitor updates on the Township website concerning the date and time of that next Board meeting.
