NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS GIVEN: The Des Moines Independent Community School District School Board will meet at the Central Campus Building Board Room located at 1800 Grand Ave. Des Moines IA on July 14th 2026, 5:30 pm local time, where at said School Board will hold a hearing and may resolve to adopt plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated cost of the following improvements: DMPS Lovejoy Elementary School Addition Scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following: Approximately 21,500 square feet of additional classroom space on the west side of the existing building. Minor renovation of the existing building will be carried out to accommodate the new work. Renovation of the existing exterior courtyard and additional parking will be installed. Associated site, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing work will be performed for the scope of work described above. The work will occur at 801 E Kenyon Ave, Des Moines, IA 50315. The above scope of work will be broken down into the following bid packages: Bid Package 1: Rammed Aggregate Piers Bid Package 2: Site Grading & Utilities Bid Package 3: Landscaping, Synthetic Turf, & Seeding Bid Package 4: Site Concrete Flatwork Bid Package 5: Structural Concrete, Building Slab on Grade, & Retaining Wall Bid Package 6: Structural Steel & Erection Bid Package 7: Masonry Bid Package 8: Roofing & Sheet Metal Bid Package 9: General Construction Bid Package 10: Aluminum Storefront, Glass & Glazing Bid Package 11: Painting & Coatings Bid Package 12: Flooring & Tiling Bid Package 13: Fire Protection Bid Package 14: Geothermal Bid Package 15: Plumbing/HVAC Bid Package 16: Electrical, Technology, & Security At said hearing, the School Board will consider the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract and estimated cost for said project, the same being on file in the office of the Director Construction Services, reference to which is made for a more detailed and complete description of the proposed improvements, and at said time and place the said Board will also receive and consider any comments/objections to said plans, specifications and form of contract or to the estimated cost of said improvements made by any interested party.
