NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER APPROVAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT NO. 12 TO THE SOUTHEAST BOONE URBAN RENEWAL PLAN FOR AN URBAN RENEWAL AREA IN THE CITY OF BOONE, STATE OF IOWA
The City Council of the City of Boone, State of Iowa, will hold a public hearing before itself at its meeting which commences at 6:00 P.M. on July 6, 2026 in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 923 8th Street, Boone, Iowa, to consider adoption of a proposed Amendment No. 12 to the Southeast Boone Urban Renewal Plan (the "Amendment") concerning the Southeast Boone Urban Renewal Area in the City of Boone, State of Iowa.
The Amendment proposes to remove the following land from the Urban Renewal Area:
That part of Lot Twelve (12) in Broadview Fifth Addition to the City of Boone, Iowa, described as: Beginning at the Northwest corner of said Lot Twelve (12), thence South 00°00' Ease 230.00 feet along the West line of said Lot Twelve (12) to the Northwest corner of Lot One (l) in Broadview Sixth Addition to the City of Boone, Iowa, thence South 89°34' East 140.00 feet, thence South 00°00' East 736.82 feet, thence South 89°50' East 265.42 feet, thence South 89°36'30" East 260.98 feet, thence North 00°00' East (recorded as North 00°0l' East) 301.5 feet, thence South 89°36'30" East (recorded as South 89°37'30" East) 620.00 feet, thence North 00°00' East 663.93 feet to the Northeast corner of said Lot 12 (12), thence North 89°35'18" West 1,286.40 feet to the point of beginning.

Parcel No. 088426262100001: Lot One (1) of Lot Three (3) of the East Half (E½) of the Northwest Quarter (NW¼) of Section Twenty-six (26), Township Eighty-four (84) North, Range Twenty-six (26), West of the 5th P.M., Boone County, Iowa, containing 24.13 acres, with 3.00 acres subject to public road, as shown by Plat of Survey recorded in Book 19, at Page 166, of the Boone County Recorder's Office.

Parcel No. 088426262100005: The East 100 feet of the South 970.70 feet of the following described tract: Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter (NE1/4 NW1/4); thence East 565.53 feet; thence South 1270.7 feet; thence Northwesterly 589.45 feet; thence North 1088.03 feet to the Point of Beginning; all being situated in the East Half of the Northwest Quarter (E1/2 NW1/4) in Section Twenty-six (26), Township Eighty-four (84) N, Range Twenty-six (26) W of the 5th P.M., Boone County, Iowa.
A copy of the Amendment is on file for public inspection in the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, City of Boone, Iowa.
The Amendment makes no change to the general scope of the urban renewal activities under consideration in the Southeast Boone Urban Renewal Plan, which remains the promotion of economic development and the rehabilitation and redevelopment of land, buildings and other improvements within such area through the elimination and containment of conditions of blight so as to improve the community through the establishment of effective land use controls, through use of an effective program of rehabilitation of existing buildings and elimination of those structures which cannot be economically rehabilitated. The proposed Amendment No. 12 would remove undeveloped land from the Urban Renewal Area. Other provisions of the Plan not affected by the Amendment would remain in full force and effect.
Any person or organization desiring to be heard shall be afforded an opportunity to be heard at such hearing.
