NOTICE OF RULE DEVELOPMENT BY
THE SCHOOL BOARD OF OKALOOSA COUNTY, FLORIDA
The School Board of Okaloosa County, Florida, pursuant to the provisions of Section 120.54, Florida Statutes, hereby gives notice that it is developing a new School Board rule for the purpose of establishing new student attendance zones for those students currently zoned to attend Mary Esther Elementary School, and Longwood Elementary School, and to establish a new student attendance zone for students who will be attending Edwins Elementary School, Elliott Point Elementary School, Florosa Elementary School, Kenwood Elementary School, Shalimar Elementary School, and Wright Elementary School to be effective at the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year. The proposed new rule deals with the subject area of student attendance zone designations. The purpose and effect of the proposed rule is to revise the current student attendance zone boundaries for Edwins Elementary School, Elliott Point Elementary School, Florosa Elementary School, Kenwood Elementary School, Shalimar Elementary School, and Wright Elementary School to be effective at the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year. The specific legal authority for the proposed rule is Sections 1001.41(6) and 1001.42(4), Florida Statutes. The entire text of the proposed rule is on file and available for inspection during regular office hours in the office of the Superintendent of Schools, at the School Board's Central Administration Complex, 202A Highway 85 North, Niceville, Florida.
