NOTICE OF RULE DEVELOPMENT BY
THE SCHOOL BOARD OF OKALOOSA COUNTY, FLORIDA
The School Board of Okaloosa County, Florida, pursuant to the provisions of §120.54, Florida Statutes, hereby gives notice that it is developing a new School Board policy which will amend the current policy 05-03, the title of which is: Directory Information. The proposed amendments under the new policy deal with the classification of certain student athletic and extracurricular participation information and student information for school photography services as Directory Information. Additionally, the amendments provide restrictions on vendor use of this student information. The purpose and effect of the proposed amendments to the policy will clarify that certain student athletic and extracurricular information will be classified as Directory Information and provides a category of student information to be defined as Directory Information to be provided to school photography vendors with limitations on use. The specific legal authority for the proposed policy is §1001.41, Florida Statutes.
