NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County Council of Greenville County, South Carolina, on April 21, 2026, enacted an Ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF NOT EXCEEDING TWO MILLION DOLLARS ($2,000,000) GREENVILLE COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA, GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS (DONALDSON FIRE SERVICE AREA PROJECT), SERIES 2026B; TO PRESCRIBE THE PURPOSES FOR WHICH THE PROCEEDS SHALL BE EXPENDED; TO PROVIDE FOR THE PAYMENT THEREOF; AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO." (the "Ordinance") which authorized the issuance of not exceeding $2,000,000 General Obligation Bonds, Series 2026B (the "Bonds") of Greenville County, South Carolina (the "County"). The proceeds of the Bonds will be used to finance a new fire truck and various equipment and apparatus for the Donaldson Fire Service Area, a special tax district created by the County, and costs of issuance.
Unless a notice, signed by not less than five (5) qualified electors of the County, of the intention to seek a referendum is filed in the office of the Clerk of Court of Greenville County and the Clerk to the County Council in accordance with Section 11-27-40(8), Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, as amended, the initiative and referendum provisions of South Carolina law contained in Title 4, Chapter 9, Article 13, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, as amended, shall not be applicable to the Ordinance. The notice of intention to seek a referendum must be filed within twenty (20) days following the publication of this notice.
