NOTICE TO OBTAIN RESORT STATUS Pursuant to Miss .Code Ann. 67-1-72 notice is hereby given that application is being made for the following described area to be recognized as a "Qualified Resort Area". Hotspot Travel Center, 27080 MS-27, Crystal Springs, MS 39059 at Exit 72 This application is being submitted by the Board of Supervisors of Copiah County The said application shall include a map marked to indicate the specific area under consideration as herein above described. The travel center will serve travelers, outdoor recreationists and event visitors throughout Copiah County and Central Mississippi. The property is strategically situated at the gateway to Calling Panther Lake, one of the state's premier trophy-bass destinations managed by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, which attracts fishing tournaments, RV travelers, and vacationers from across the region. The location also services year-round visitors to Chautauqua Park and the historic Tree Top Trail in downtown Crystal Springs, and seasonal attendees of the Crystal Springs Tomato Festival, which draws thousands each summer. The facility presently operates as a full-service travel center and truck stop offering: RV parking and full electrical hookups for tourists, campers, and anglers visiting local attractions;Private showers and modern rest facilities for overnight guests and professional drivers;Sit-down dining and freshly prepared meals within the main building for families and travelers; andFuel and convenience amenities that directly support recreational, agricultural, and commercial traffic along the I-55 corridor. Approval of the described area as a resort area will permit the operation of open bars in the area. Expressions of Opinion are requested of residents in the area. Any person wishing to request a hearing before the Board of Tax Appeals on the resort status of the area described herein must request a hearing in writing and it must be received by the Department of Revenue within (15) fifteen days from the first date this notice was published.
