NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS The Altoona Board of Adjustment will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025, at 6:30 PM in the Council Chambers at Altoona City Hall, 900 Venbury Drive, Altoona, Iowa. The purpose of said hearing is to consider a request for a conditional use permit from Gary Palmer (property owner) and Tangled Tails (business) for the property located at 2121 Adventureland Drive in Altoona, Iowa. The property is legally described as follows: LOT 4 IN ANDERSON COMMERCIAL PARK PLAT 2 AN OFFICIAL PLAT NOW INCLUDED IN AND FORMING A PART OF THE CITY OF ALTOONA, POLK COUNTY, IOWA. The applicant is requesting a conditional use permit to continue operation of an overnight pet boarding business in a commercial district. This conditional use permit was previously approved and has since expired. The Board of Adjustment of Altoona, Iowa, may be special permit, after holding a Public Hearing, authorize the conditional use permit needed to allow such use.
