PRESENT: BOARD MEMBERS: Marty Chitty, Leanne Harter, Emily Schaack, Carsrud, Maier arrived 6:32 p.m.
STAFF: Dr Steve Gray, Tammy Ellis
1. Call to Order at 6:30 p.m.
2. Approval of Agenda-Motion to approve the agenda by Harter second by Schack, Motion Carried 5-0

4. Information
4.1 Policy Review: 302.4 – Superintendent Duties Dr Gray presented Policy 302.4 Superindent Duties for review, Carsrud and Harter recommended a few edits, Dr Gray will update the policy and bring it back for the March 2nd board meeting.
4.2 Off-Schedule Bus Research Dr Gray updated the board on a possible used bus purchase and is looking for direction from the board if they were like to move forward, we could pursue the bus at a lower price and pay for it with our vehicle allotment (we don't need a vehicle at this time), the rest would be paid from PPEL reserves. Dr Gray will continue to have Jason Sampson, Director of Transportation do research on a used bus not to exceed $90,000.

6.1 District Calendar 2026-27 (August 24. 2026 start date) Motion by Carsrud to approve the district calendar as presented, second by Harter, Motion Carried 5-0
6.2 NCRC Rates 2026-27 Motion by Maier to adopt Proposal A $10 increase keeping the reduced rate the same for qualifying families, second by Schaack, Motion Carried 5-0
7. Consent Agenda Harter recommended an edit to the February 2, 2026 minutes, Chitty praised Barb Elgersma for her work with the district as she is retiring in March. Chitty also mentioned Kasey Taggert being a great fit as she moves into the NCRC Director position when current Director Chris Burling retires in June. Motion by Carsrud to approve the consent agenda second by Harter. Motion Carried 5-0

Resignation/Retirement Withdrawal: • Kate Huse requests to withdraw her intent to retire and continue at NCSD beyond her current contract.
Education Support Personnel Salary Supplement – Division VII in HF 2612 included a $14 million dollar appropriation to provide supplemental pay for education support personnel. The funds were distributed based on the district's 2024-25 budget enrollment; Nevada received $40,745. Education support personnel who are eligible for supplemental pay are "regular and part-time employees of the district who are not salaried, they are hourly employees." Employees that are eligible for the supplement pay will receive payment on their June 19, 2026 paycheck.

8.1 Board Member Comments Schaack mentioned Colton Mitchell going to state for bowling. Carsrud gave a shout out to Dave Kroese and his maintenance crew on the savings in electricity. Chitty mentioned the slight decrease in health care costs being a nice surprise. Grimm mentioned that high school going well, the jazz band concert coming up. Tables and Tunes is a fun time as well. Grimm talked about some wrestlers going to state.and the last home basketball game is tonight.
