Nevada Community School District Board of Directors Minutes of Regular Meeting Monday, June 1, 2026 Gates Conference Room Board Members:Marty Chitty, Tom Maier, Emily Schaack, Tori Carsrud, Staff:Dr Kody Asmus, Tammy Ellis, Dr. Kristian Einsweiler, Jason Sampson 1.Call to Order at 6:30 p.m. 2.Approval of the Agenda – Chitty asked the board to move 5.3 to the beginning of the agenda. Motion by Maier, seconded by Schaack to approve the agenda with 5.3 being moved to the beginning of the agenda. Motion carried 4-0 3.Public Comment –None 4.Board Salute – Chitty gave a board salute to the Nevada Booster Club for their recent commitment to purchase a video board and also thanked them for past and ongoing financial contributions to the district's activity department. The presented them with a plaque and a group picture with the board was taken 5.Action Agenda 5.1–HS Course Description Guide – Edit – HS Principal, Dr. Einsweiler presented the edits that were made to the HS Course Description Guide, after some board discussion regarding a few more edits and pending current legislation for the house file Concurrent and PSEO classes. Motion by Carsrud and secnonded by Maier to approve the HS Course Description Guide pending current legislation regarding the house fil for Concurrent and PSEO classes and updates that were discussed by the board. Motion carried 4-0 5.2–Board Policy Review: 902.1, 902.3 – Motion by Carsrud seconded by Schaack to approve the policy review 902.1 with proposed edits, waiving the second reading. Motion carried 4-0 Motion by Carsrud, seconded by Schaack to approve the policy review 902.3 waiving the second and third readings. Motion carried 4-0 5.3– Fuel Bids 2026-27 -Transportation Director, Jason Sampson went over the fuel bids for the 2026-27 year. Motion by Carsrud and seconded by Schaack to appove the bid from Harms Oil Company for the 2026-27 year. Motion carried 4-0 6.
