Project Description:
The applicant proposes to deepen the currently permitted benches within the northwestern highwall to allow more optimal extraction of reserves. No lateral expansion is proposed. No change to facility processes is proposed. There are no proposed changes to the reclamation objective which continues to be creation of open space including a pond.
Although main quarry operations and offices are located in the Village of Haverstraw, the permittee also controls lands situated in the Town of Clarkstown. The Haverstraw Quarry is located on Riverside Avenue, north of the intersection of NYS Routes 9W and 304, in the Village of Haverstraw and the Town of Clarkstown, Rockland County.
