Project Description:
The Department has prepared a draft permit, subject to public comment or other information, to approve a proposed discharge of 0.15 million gallons per day (MGD) of treated sanitary wastewater to a tributary of Lake Tiroati Brook, a Class B waterbody, from a secondary treatment plant at the applicant's facility address located at Lake Welch Beach, 7 Lakes Drive, Bear Mountain, NY. The facility currently discharges to Lake Welch (Outfall 001) via a lagoon. The applicant plans to upgrade the wastewater treatment plant, install a new outfall (Outfall 002) with a discharge to a tributary of Lake Tiorati Brook, and Outfall 001 (the discharge to Lake Welch), will be capped and abandoned once the upgraded facility is operational.

Requests for legislative hearing (public statement) hearing must be sent in writing to the DEC contact person below by the comment deadline. The Department assesses such requests pursuant to 6 NYCRR Section 621.8.
